Logarithmic Arithmetic gives steady Positive EV to Bulls
“Don’t sell America short" is a famous Wall Street attributed to J.P. Morgan. It means to hold stock in the United States — whatever dips that there are, the value of the United States will increase in the long run.
Now that doesnt mean "Always be long". Over the next 20-30 years in what I see as the greatest bull campaign in history, my positions will be steadily bullish and/or flat. Short selling will be limited to times of high opportunity.
Understanding logarithmic growth and plus EV will keep you way ahead of permabears and shorting daytraders. Shorting may provide quick windfall gains, but in a long run bullish environment, that strategy which is high variance & negative EV is beaten by a buy/hold/flat/hedge strategy. Gann/Hurst/and Wave Structure analysis, while not 100% certain or knowable, is then used to add probabilities for more additional positive EV.
